Connecticut native Maxwell and the band will perform two 45-minute sets of jazz standards from the Great American Songbook. The band includes Mike McGuirk, bass; Andrew Swift, drums; Matt Garrison, sax and Connecticut born Jay Azzolina, guitar. Doors open at 7; the show begins at 7:30.
Lisa Maxwell started performing as a vocalist in 1980’s at Jan Wallman’s in Greenwich Village and has appeared recently at The Metropolitan Room and The Empire Room in New York. Since the release of her two CD’s she has also made appearances in Westchester County and Connecticut and performed at the Inn at Newtown at the grand opening of the art exhibition “Both Sides Now” at the Absolut Gallery.
This is the second event in a series of fundraisers for S.H.E.S. families and first responders. The first, an all-day fundraiser at the Inn, raised more $6,000. Direct contributions raised thousands more. Upcoming events include special Sunday Brunch Buffets beginning Sunday, Jan. 13.
